This Human Resources Manager role is responsible for leading the full spectrum of HR and administration functions at a manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HR strategies and their application in plant operations, as well as experience in building high-performing workforces, ensuring statutory compliance, and managing industrial relations.
Key Responsibilities:- HR Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with factory production objectives and corporate policies.
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Plant Head and senior leadership to achieve operational goals, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
- Process Improvements: Drive continuous improvements in factory HR systems, processes, and policies to support business excellence.
- Manpower Forecasting: Analyze factory production schedules and capacity expansion to forecast manpower requirements.
- Talent Sourcing: Develop and execute recruitment plans for factory staff and blue-collar workforce, leveraging local hiring, vendor coordination, and ITI/campus sourcing.
- Talent Management: Drive KRA/KPI-based performance appraisal systems, monitor worker-level performance, identify gaps, and develop improvement plans.
- Training Needs Analysis: Conduct annual Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for blue-and white-collar employees.
- Technical Training: Develop and implement technical training programs in partnership with internal/external trainers.
- Employee Development: Track training hours, effectiveness metrics, and individual development plans (IDPs).
- Succesion Planning: Identify critical roles and successors within plant operations.
- Talent Pipeline: Create and monitor talent pipelines for operator-to-supervisor and supervisor-to-manager transitions.
- Talent Matrix: Maintain talent matrices, dashboards, and development action plans.
- Positive ER Climate: Maintain a positive Employee Relations climate and trust-based relations with shop-floor employees and unions.
- Grievance Handling: Proactively address grievances, coordinate inquiries, and ensure disciplinary proceedings as per the Standing Orders.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiation and settlement discussions (Long-Term Agreements, Wage Settlements, etc.) with unions if applicable.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to all applicable factory-level statutory requirements.
- Register Maintenance: Maintain updated statutory registers, wage records, and contract labour documentation.
- Compliance Audits: Handle inspections, compliance audits (HR, ISO, SEDEX, BSCI), and liaison with local labour and factory authorities.
- Safety Policies: Collaborate with Factory Safety Officer to implement safety policies and conduct safety training programs.
- PPE Usage: Ensure adherence to PPE usage, incident reporting, and emergency preparedness.
- Health & Hygiene: Support periodic health & hygiene audits, workplace risk assessments, and fire drills.
- Admin Support: Oversee efficient functioning of admin support including security, canteen, transport, housekeeping, and plant infrastructure.
- Facility Maintenance: Monitor upkeep of factory premises, utilities, gardens, and sanitation.
- Vendor Contracts: Manage vendor contracts and ensure service level compliance.
- Employee Engagement: Drive factory-specific employee engagement plans including floor-level R&R programs, suggestion schemes, and open forums.
- Health Check-Ups: Organize health check-ups, blood donation drives, and festival celebrations.
- Grievance Redressal: Manage grievance redressal platforms, feedback mechanisms, and pulse surveys.
