Estimation Specialist Role Overview

The role of Estimation Specialist is a critical position that requires an individual to provide accurate and timely cost estimations for various projects.

This specialist will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, technical requirements, and scope of work to understand the needs and objectives of clients and stakeholders.

In this capacity, the Estimation Specialist will conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to determine the most suitable solutions and approaches for integrating control systems with HVAC systems, DDC systems, and PLCs.

The successful candidate will ensure engineering design integrity by validating that the proposed technical solution aligns with the design shared during the RFQ stage.

Key responsibilities include utilizing industry knowledge, past project data, and estimation software tools to prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, DDC, and PLC systems.

The specialist will coordinate with Design, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure that estimation inputs align with the final execution strategy and project timelines.

Additionally, the Estimation Specialist will provide support to Project and Operations teams in reviewing cost and design assumptions post-award.

They will also assist in the development of proposals, bids, and tender documents by providing accurate cost estimates and technical insights.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential in this role, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in automation or HVAC-related estimation.

Key qualifications include cost estimation, document formatting, proposal drafting, RFQ analysis, and process improvement.

A strong understanding of engineering principles and practices is also required.
