Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Estimator who is deeply passionate about the broadband and telecom industry. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of industry requirements for all outside plant engineering and construction needs.

This role involves reviewing customer-provided Request for Proposals (RFPs) documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of project scope, RFP response requirements, project specifications, project schedule, and customer objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive estimate and bid preparation templates tailored to each RFP project.

They will utilize expert-level proficiency in Excel to build cost breakdowns, high-level schedules, risk registers, preliminary resource plans, and populate customer bid pricing forms.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to gather necessary project information and ensure accurate estimates.

Effective communication with internal stakeholders is crucial to present estimates, address inquiries, and provide recommendations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review customer-provided Request for Proposals (RFPs) documents to gain a full understanding of project scope, RFP response requirements, project specifications, project schedule, and customer objectives.
  2. Develop comprehensive estimate and bid preparation templates tailored to each RFP project.

  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary project information and ensure accurate estimates.
  5. Conduct thorough analysis and research to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
  6. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to present estimates, address inquiries, and provide recommendations as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in estimating within the broadband or telecom industry.
  • Expertise in Excel with the ability to develop complex spreadsheets and models.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong passion for the industry and a drive for excellence.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members and clients.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial and/or industrial low voltage and/or fiber optic cabling project coordination and estimating.
  • Able to comply with and enforce risk management policies and safety procedures.
  • Experience preparing budgets for each project.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, processes, trade practices, and equipment.
  • OSHA 10, 30 Certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in using software suites such as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English.
