Transportation Planning Expert Wanted

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled transportation planning expert to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain and logistics team, you will be responsible for analyzing and developing transportation plans to control the movement of commodities throughout a manufacturing or distribution network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective transportation strategies to meet client needs.
  • Design and maintain monitoring systems to provide real-time information on shipment status, in-transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.
  • Generate and analyze reports of transportation costs, carrier performance, and lead times to identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Transportation Management or related field desired.
  • Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of decision-making processes and associated tools and techniques.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques.
  • Transportation - PHA: Knowledge of and experience with transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and customers.
  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of processes, tools, and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials.
  • Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions, principles, and techniques used in supply chain management.
