Senior Infrastructure Leadership Role

Job Summary:

  • To lead the infrastructure operations team and drive seamless delivery of services.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement an effective infrastructure strategy, encompassing on-premise data center management and cloud deployments.
  2. Infrastructure Assessment: Analyze existing infrastructure effectiveness and efficiency, and develop strategies to improve or leverage these systems.
  3. Procurement Negotiation: Negotiate the purchase of software, hardware, and other IT supplies as approved by management.
  4. Inventory Management: Manage inventory of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
  5. Senior Management Interaction: Interact with senior management/peers within the organization on matters requiring acceptance of alternate approaches.
  6. Team Management: Manage outsourced teams for daily operations/activities.
  7. Problem-Solving: Provide solutions to complex business problems for areas of responsibility, requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  8. DR Activities: Perform live DR activities and periodic DR drills.
  9. Tech Expertise: Possess working knowledge of servers, storage, databases, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and networks.
  10. Incident Management: Manage production incidents.
  11. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: B Tech / BE / MCA / MBA.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in infrastructure management for both on-premise data centers and cloud infra.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Program Management: Program and project management expertise.
  • Planning and Execution: Planning and executing infra-related projects.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: In-depth hands-on knowledge of infra such as servers, storage, databases, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and networks.
  • Cloud Computing: Very good knowledge and exposure on cloud computing.

Functional Competencies:

  • Assessment and Strategy: Ability to perform infrastructure discovery assessments and transformation strategies.
  • Data Center Functions: Holistic understanding of all data center functions (production operations, change control, DR/business recovery, helpdesk, systems management, and facilities).
  • Cloud Architectures: Experience with private and public cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration consideration.
