Job Overview

The Assistant Manager, Buying Operations is a vital role in overseeing the sample management and item setup process.

  • Develops strategies to scale, monitor, and streamline vendor-provided assets acquisition and product turn-in processes.
  • Oversees and drives the item setup process, focusing on accuracy and consistency for a seamless customer experience.
  • Manages inventory control and transfers to/from vendors and DCs.
  • Provides thought leadership on process efficiency initiatives, including daily publication, PIM, sample workflow management, and cross-functional training.
  • Liaises with buying offices on lifecycle-related priorities and issues.
  • Partners with Asset Protection and DC teams for studio inventory management and aligning on all policies and procedures.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops a team, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, and collaboration.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experience in the field of item setup in a multi-banner e-commerce retail environment.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience, with at least 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude, proficiency with merchandising systems, and web-based tools.
  • Action-oriented, organized, and able to manage teams to execute within deadlines.
  • Demonstrate sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong decision-making skills.
