About the Role

As a Senior Design Engineer – API 6A Equipment, you will lead the design and development of pressure control equipment.

This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and experience with API 6A product design and certification processes.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of pressure control equipment per API 6A standards.
  • Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using CAD tools.
  • Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other mechanical calculations to validate designs.
  • Ensure compliance with API 6A, ASME, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams.
  • Provide engineering support for prototype testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in and/or lead design reviews, DFMEAs, and engineering change processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of internal engineering standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required); Master's preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering in the oil & gas industry.
  • Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with API 6A product design and certification processes.
  • Proficiency in Inventor, Vault, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, MathCAD, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 6A, and API Q1 standards is a must.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, heat treatment, etc.).
