About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Linux System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our hosting support team, you will be responsible for monitoring the stability of our products, providing L1/L2 support, and handling incident response.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Participate in 24x7 shifts and monitor the stability of our products with various internal tools.
  • Take ownership of L1/L2 support for all hosting products, including cpanel/plesk/vps/cloud/dedicated.
  • Handle incident response, troubleshooting, and fixes for various products/services.
  • Communicate clearly on tickets, phone calls made to the team about various issues.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency to resolve issues and build advanced automation workflows for automating repeated issues.
  • Work with our infrastructure team to deploy and maintain Linux/Windows servers using automated scripts and a predefined runbook.
  • Ensure SLAs and operational standards are met, and raise tickets to different internal groups to resolve recurrent problems.
Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Strong academic performance and good understanding of Linux Systems.
  • Knowledge of Shell/Bash, sed/awk/grep/egrep, VI/VIM/Emacs, netstat, lsof, strace, ps/top/atop/dstat, grub boot config & systems rescue, fstab/disk labels, ext3/ext4, IPtables, sysstat (sar/vmstat/iostat etc), run-levels & startup scripts, sudo/chroot/chkrootkit/rkhunter.
  • Basic DNS & Networking, TCP/UDP, IP Routing, HA & Load Balancing Concepts, SMTP, HTTP, FTP, IMAP, POP, Windows 2000/2003/2008, NTFS chkdisk/acls etc, Terminal Services, IIS Fundamentals.
Good To Have:
  • Understanding of Cloud, RAID, LOM/IPMI/IP KVMs, Dell Hardware, WMI, Powershell/VB scripts, MS-SQL Fundamentals, Postfix/qmail/Exim, Database Systems Fundamentals (MySQL/Postgres), Nginx/Apache (mod_php, mod_fcgid, CGI, php-fpm etc), Tomcat, Nagios, DHCP, Kickstart/Cobbler, Yum, RPM, GIT/SVN, Regular expressions, Rescue Kits like TRK, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), GCP.
