Job Title

A pivotal role in the Legal department of SRM AP University, Andhra Pradesh has become available. We seek an accomplished Legal Officer who will oversee and manage all legal matters, ensuring seamless compliance with laws and regulations.

This dynamic individual must possess a Bachelor's or master's degree in law (LLB or LLM) from a recognized institution along with Bar Council of India registration. Additionally, they should have at least six years of experience as an advocate or working in the legal department of an organization, preferably in the education sector.

The ideal candidate should be adept at handling various aspects of law including contract management, litigation, policy development, and grievance resolution. They must also possess exceptional analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills accompanied by outstanding oral and written communication abilities. Proficiency in Telugu is a mandatory requirement.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Expert Legal Counsel: Offer timely and accurate legal advice on diverse matters to senior administrators and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and vet legal documents such as Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and standard agreements with external parties.
  • Litigation Management: Coordinate with internal and external legal advisors to handle court matters, prepare responses to grievances, and represent the university when necessary.
  • Policy Development: Oversee internal legal processes, update existing policies, and contribute to the formulation and implementation of new ones.
  • Grievance Resolution: Serve as a member secretary for committees such as the Committee Against Sexual Harassment and handle internal disputes from a legal perspective.
