Business Development Specialist

Job Description:

Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Business Development Specialist to drive business growth in specific industry verticals/territories. The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulating sales plans, identifying potential clients, and forecasting market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create sales strategies to achieve territory-specific targets by highlighting customer requirements and market trends.
  • Monitor sales performance on a weekly basis and initiate corrective action as required to ensure adherence to sales budgets.
  • Negotiate terms with clients regarding product specifications, payment terms, and timelines, and obtain approval from the reporting manager.
  • Build strong relationships with customers in the territory to understand their needs and resolve queries promptly.
  • Identify opportunities for integrated solutions and report to the reporting managers.
  • Document customer specifications and forward them to the concerned department.
  • Liaise with the operations team to ensure order execution within predefined timelines and criteria.
  • Regularly liaise with customers and communicate changes in order specifications to the concerned departments.
  • Collect payments from clients as per contractual agreements.
  • Ensure timely dispatch of goods to the client's site as per the delivery schedule.
  • Adhere to policies/processes to enhance response quality and minimize response time to customer queries.
  • Establish service centers or identify partner agencies to provide quick after-sales service to customers.
  • Provide technical support to customers on after-sales related issues.
  • Resolve all customer complaints within predefined timelines.
  • Properly log and update all customer interaction activities in appropriate systems.
  • Respond to customer queries/issues raised during finalization/execution/post-execution sales in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with the network of distributors and dealers in the territory and escalate significant issues to superiors.
  • Effectively manage all dealer-related activities, such as stock booking, raising invoices, and making payments.
  • Stay up-to-date with territorial developments and provide data to the marketing team on potential opportunities for expansion/diversification into new markets/geographies.
  • Conduct one-on-one discussions about future plans with superiors based on require details mentioned in reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, negotiation tactics, and problem-solving abilities. He/she should also have a solid understanding of sales strategies, market analysis, and financial management principles.
