Linux Support Engineer Job Description

The role of the Linux Support Engineer is to provide level 2 and 3 support for Linux in a mission-critical banking environment. This includes ensuring compliance with PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulator requirements, as well as maintaining high availability, performance, and security.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience in Linux support, with a strong understanding of RHEL, CentOS, Debian GNU, FreeBSD, and Ubuntu. They will also be able to troubleshoot complex incidents, manage approved platform changes, and conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide level 2 and 3 support for Linux in a mission-critical banking environment.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulator requirements.
  • Maintain high availability, performance, and security.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Languages: RHEL, CentOS, Debian GNU, FreeBSD, Ubuntu.
  • Experience: At least 6 years in Linux support.
  • Skills: Troubleshooting complex incidents, managing approved platform changes, conducting root cause analysis.
