Key Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall health and performance of our data systems, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes. They will monitor these systems, identify areas of improvement, and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.

The successful candidate will manage and optimize data infrastructure components such as servers, storage systems, and cloud services. They will also develop and implement data quality checks, validation rules, and data cleansing procedures.

In addition to these responsibilities, our system administrator will implement security controls and compliance measures to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance. They will design and implement data backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data against loss or corruption.

Furthermore, the candidate will optimize the performance of our data systems and processes by tuning queries, optimizing storage, and improving ETL pipeline efficiency. They will maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and fix guides for our data systems and processes.

Effective communication and collaboration are essential in this role. The successful candidate will work closely with multi-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and IT operations.

They will lead or participate in data-related projects, such as system migrations, upgrades, or expansions. Additionally, they will deliver training and mentorship to junior team members, sharing knowledge and standard methodologies to support their professional development.

Rotational shifts, including on-call rotations and coverage during weekends and holidays, may be required to provide 24/7 support for our data systems, responding to and resolving data-related incidents in a timely manner.
