The ideal candidate for this position will be a tech-savvy individual who prioritizes coding over administrative tasks and thrives on prototyping before making key decisions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cutting-edge AI services, focusing on prompt orchestration, data retrieval, tool/function calling, and streaming UX, while ensuring thorough evaluation and implementing necessary guardrails.
  • Develop reliable data ingestion/processing pipelines, storage solutions, and delivery mechanisms, all of which must include robust observability and cost control.
  • Implement secure consent-driven flows, signed links/tokens, rate limits, audit trails, and abuse prevention measures to protect our systems.
  • Integrate and normalize external data, model entities/relationships, and provide a clean query layer for applications and partners.
  • Deliver polished, modern UIs and APIs for both internal and external stakeholders, adhering to performance and reliability budgets.
  • Ensure seamless logging/metrics/tracing, automated testing, incident runbooks, and a well-structured release cadence.

Requirements:

  • 6-10+ years of experience in building production systems as the primary developer (titles < commits), with exceptional builders from earlier-career welcome if they can demonstrate proof of their capabilities.
  • Evidence of transforming ambiguous product challenges into functioning software within days, not quarters.
  • Hands-on experience with general AI tools (retrieval, tools, streaming, evals) featuring real users — along with lessons learned from failures.
  • Strong system thinking: data models, consistency trade-offs, performance budgets, failure handling.
  • Security and privacy instincts: PII handling, consent, audit trails, regulatory awareness.
  • Excellent written communication: clear documentation, READMEs, runbooks.
