SCADA Engineer

About this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled SCADA engineer to lead the design, configuration, and deployment of industrial automation systems. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions.

  • Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.
  • Architect and implement real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain secure data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.
  • Manage industrial databases for high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Strong background in MES functions (production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC)
  • Proficiency with database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards (ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443)
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments
