The role of Fashion Merchandiser is a critical component of our business, driving merchandising strategy and optimizing processes to meet production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Merchandise team to optimize the buying cycle
  • Orient current processes or establish new processes to enhance procurement strategy and ensure the shortest possible cycle of production is met.
  • Timely fulfillment – the primary key result area for this position. Ensure all products are launched on time, involving capacity planning and production planning with operations manager, suppliers, along with ensuring all levers for timely inspection are in place.
  • Distribute detailed technical packs or specification sheets, and quality standards for coordination with vendors
  • Collaborate with vendors for development sampling and initial costs
  • Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular audits, and address any issues or non-compliance.
  • Engage closely with clients to ensure design packages are complete and accurate.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and sourcing metrics, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Mentor and train team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring a high level of performance.
  • Conduct Training & development of vendor quality teams to optimize time & quality with vendor upskilling initiatives
  • Evaluate and analyze new tools and technologies to automate processes & reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including materials, warehousing, and logistics, to align sourcing activities with production plans and business goals.

This position demands strong technical knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and manufacturing processes, as well as experience in managing production or sourcing.

Past experience in managing production or sourcing (ideally 2+ years)

Bachelor's diploma/degree in fashion technology or engineering in textile technology

Exceptional understanding of garment manufacturing operations & processes

Technical understanding of pattern and fit development of garments—knowledge of AutoCAD would be preferred

Merchandise sourcing knowledge - Experience in sample development and offshore production exposure; in large-sized buying offices or export houses

Knowledge of advanced Excel & data visualization tools

Digitally savvy & adept at implementing new technologies & tools.
