Job Title
Business Development Manager in Risk Management
- Evaluates legal matters related to claims and optimizes recovery actions.
- Candidates must handle recovery actions for costs and expenses incurred by the company from third parties effectively.
Main Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will acknowledge receipt of claims within a specified timeframe and report to senior management.
- Candidates should monitor and assist with court cases and other colleagues in handling claims until closure.
- The ideal candidate will manage risk-related matters, including cargo claims and stevedore damages.
- Candidates must ensure prompt reserves are taken against third-party damages.
- They will be responsible for handling debt recoveries and drafting service agreements and MOUs.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Candidates must monitor court cases, appeals, and writ petitions initiated by authorities.
- The ideal candidate will appoint surveyors and outside counsels, negotiating reasonable expenses.
- Candidates should recommend process improvements and monitor case law impacting the company.
Requirements:
- A graduate degree is required.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years' experience in the shipping industry with Cargo/Marine claims experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Candidates should have good analytical, reporting, and trouble-shooting skills.
