Scientific Writing Director


About the Role:

The successful candidate will lead a team of scientific writers, providing strategic direction and operational oversight to assigned therapeutic areas. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to develop education and communication content, leveraging advanced training delivery tools and techniques.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader to drive quality and productivity within our scientific writing group.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of scientific writers, providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure expert and senior writers achieve their full potential.
  2. Develop and maintain expertise in assigned therapeutic areas, staying up-to-date on key trends and developments in the industry.
  3. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including scientific communication teams and end-users, to deliver high-quality outputs that meet agreed timelines and quality standards.
  4. Contribute to overall quality enhancement by ensuring high scientific standards are maintained across all output produced by the scientific writing group.

Requirements:
  • 10 years of experience in content creation for the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry or academia, with 6 years in a leadership role.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate, as well as possess strong stakeholder management, communication, and people management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language (spoken and written).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in life sciences/pharmacy/similar discipline or medical degree.
  • Therapeutic area/domain knowledge exposure, proficient in multiple TAs/domains under one GBU.
  • Scientific communications/writing, medical communications/writing, publication planning, project management.
