Leading a team of modelers and consultants, you will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end processes for the development, validation, and lifecycle management of Wholesale Rating Models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a new Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Wholesale Rating Models from scratch, leading to significant improvements in risk governance and practices.
  • Provide thought leadership and contribute to best practices in model development and validation, driving innovation and excellence within the team.
  • Track latest regulatory and industry updates, translating them into model design considerations that align with business objectives.
  • Independently research and develop innovative solutions, staying ahead of the curve in terms of statistical climate risk models integrating economic and social data.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and validate range of models including Corporate/Wholesale Rating Models, ensuring accuracy and reliability in financial risk assessment.
  • Explore new approaches for rating model development for low default portfolios, maximizing value while minimizing risk.
  • Master Rating Scale (MRS) calibration, refining the process for accurate and consistent ratings.

Technical Expertise:

  • Design and implement end-to-end process for development, validation, and lifecycle management of Wholesale Rating Models, leveraging expertise in statistics, mathematics, and programming languages like R and Python.
  • Develop and validate statistical climate risk models integrating economic and social data, assessing potential impact of climate scenarios on financial risk.

People Management:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of modelers and consultants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Drive capability building and knowledge sharing within the team, promoting collaboration and expertise.

Model Monitoring:

  • Determine expected performance of respective models on historical data, identifying areas for improvement and refinement.
  • Implement monitoring tools to assess model performance continuously, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in Statistics and Mathematics with hands-on experience in developing and validating Wholesale Rating Models.
  • Proficient in programming languages like R and Python, data analysis, and visualization using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hold degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
