Job Description

This role involves overseeing the procurement of merchandise and coordinating with vendors for the kids department. The ideal candidate will focus on sourcing high-quality products at competitive prices to meet customer demands.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing a merchandising strategy and working within it at all times.
  • Collaborating with the merchandising team to ensure timely deliveries of purchase orders.
  • Conducting market research to identify future product trends and technological advancements.
  • Working with the marketing department to plan pricing strategies for various product lines and negotiating optimal prices with suppliers.
  • Sourcing the right products at the right time to meet customer requirements.
  • Maximizing current sourcing channels and identifying new opportunities.
  • Supporting negotiations with the supply base to achieve best costs and margins.
  • Working closely with designers to develop styles, providing design research, fabric, and print advice, and informing best sellers for move-on styles.
  • Managing stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns in collaboration with the merchandising team.
  • Tracking competitors' activities through market research to understand trends, forecasting, and color, fabric, etc.
  • Developing promotional plans and reviewing and adjusting season plans and weekly plans.
  • Vendor identification and development.
  • Obtaining range merchandise after effective negotiation.
