
Kids Department Buyer

This role involves overseeing the procurement of merchandise and coordinating with vendors for the kids department. The ideal candidate will focus on sourcing high-quality products at competitive prices to meet customer demands.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Developing a merchandising strategy and working within it at all times.
- Collaborating with the merchandising team to ensure timely deliveries of purchase orders.
- Conducting market research to identify future product trends and technological advancements.
- Working with the marketing department to plan pricing strategies for various product lines and negotiating optimal prices with suppliers.
- Sourcing the right products at the right time to meet customer requirements.
- Maximizing current sourcing channels and identifying new opportunities.
- Supporting negotiations with the supply base to achieve best costs and margins.
- Working closely with designers to develop styles, providing design research, fabric, and print advice, and informing best sellers for move-on styles.
- Managing stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns in collaboration with the merchandising team.
- Tracking competitors' activities through market research to understand trends, forecasting, and color, fabric, etc.
- Developing promotional plans and reviewing and adjusting season plans and weekly plans.
- Vendor identification and development.
- Obtaining range merchandise after effective negotiation.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
