Database Administrator

A highly experienced Database Administrator is required to play a key role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute database upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
  • Design, configure, and manage high-availability solutions in production environments.
  • Plan and implement database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of high-availability solutions and other HA/DR technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in database development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
