Database Administrator Role

We are seeking an experienced database administrator to join our team.

About the Job

The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and upgrading mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute database upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to latest releases.
  • Design, configure, and manage high-availability clusters in production environments.
  • Plan and implement database migrations to cloud platforms with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance.
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a database administrator in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading databases to latest releases in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of high-availability solutions and other disaster recovery methods.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud database migration (AWS preferred).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for database administration.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
