Job Title: Production Merchandiser

As a seasoned production merchandiser, you will be responsible for spearheading product development, merchandise management, sourcing, supplier relationships, logistics coordination, and ensuring timely delivery of production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and managing product lines from material sourcing to supplier negotiations and on-time production as per design specifications
  • Ensuring alignment of raw materials, job workers, and internal and external production teams for timely delivery of production
  • Nurturing, developing, and maintaining relationships with partners and vendors for fabric, trims, and accessories
Product Development:
  • Conceptualizing, evaluating, and presenting pre-production samples to stakeholders
  • Monitoring and evaluating product performance in terms of fit, construction, and durability, implementing necessary adjustments
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors on costing to achieve optimal pricing
Production Planning:
  • Designing and managing production schedules and timelines to ensure timely delivery of retail products
  • Collaborating with design and development teams to understand product specifications, materials, and production requirements
Sourcing, Dispatch and Payments:
  • Creating bill of materials for bulk orders and production runs
  • Sourcing, developing of: Raw materials, Trims, and Accessories, Job workers
  • Ensuring all raw materials are planned, ordered and followed-up to avoid timeline surprises
Supplier and Vendor Management:
  • IDentifying and working with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and production services
  • Negotiating terms and conditions with vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality production
Quality Control:
  • Implementing and enforcing quality control procedures to ensure that products meet company standards and specifications
  • Conducting inspections and overseeing testing of materials and finished products to identify and resolve quality issues
Qualifications:
  • 4-5 years of experience in product development, buying, merchandising, and production roles in the industry
  • Experience working in startups is an added advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of fabrics, trims, and accessories, and factory supplier base
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong organizational skills
