Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize supply chain performance. Key responsibilities include:

  1. New Product Development: Prepare RFQs, identify suppliers, analyze quotations, conduct should-costing, negotiate with suppliers, sign-off supplier agreements, finalize BOMs with the engineering team, and evaluate commodity pricing trends.
  2. Supplier Management: Monitor price trends, conduct cost negotiations, manage vendors, perform risk analysis, evaluate and rate suppliers on QCD, prepare and implement improvement plans, drive VAVE initiatives, cost reductions, supplier rationalization, and spend analysis.
  3. Lead New Vendor Development: Plan capacity, evaluate product cycle times, set up new product lines at vendor locations, and develop yearly targets for cost reduction, vendor consolidation, smooth program launches, localization content improvement, and supplier relationship management.
  4. Tool Cost Settlement: Handle tool cost settlements with vendors using amortization/recovery methods and formulate tooling contract agreements.
  5. Cost Reduction Initiatives: Implement productivity improvements, rejection control, business assurance, and share of business frameworks, benchmarking, and cost walk-over time.
  6. NPI Support: Provide support to design and marketing teams for indirect procurement during NPI.
  7. Vendor Visits: Conduct regular visits to enhance capacity and quality in the manufacturing process.
  8. Raw Material Planning: Monitor raw material planning by suppliers based on scheduling and procurement plans.
  9. MIS Reports: Prepare monthly MIS reports for sourcing activities.
  10. ERP-SAP-MM Module: Utilize the ERP-SAP-MM module for procurement processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP-MM.
