Operations Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our logistics hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring end-to-end line haul operations, managing the weekly creation and daily management of the line haul schedule, and implementing policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage HUB operations for assigned shifts.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor end-to-end line haul operations, including Air, Road, and Rail transportation modes.
  • Manage the weekly creation and daily management of the line haul schedule and associated systems.
  • Properly implement policies and participate in audit teams to identify gaps and provide timely solutions.
  • Maintain commercial connections, vehicle availability, and daily follow-up on held-back shipments.
  • Maintain shipment records for each client.
  • Ensure SLAs are met for each shipment to be received at customer premises within scheduled time.
  • Collaborate with forecasting teams to improve base forecasts.
  • Perform ongoing analysis to develop and improve scheduling methodologies and systems.
  • Plan sufficient transportation based on daily needs.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with different teams and create schedules that meet stakeholders' expectations.
  • Forecast operation planning for festive peak loads to ensure operational continuity.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
  • Provide company policy, systems, and industry-related training to direct reports as needed.
  • Monitor timely cash receivables and deposits and conduct regular reconciliations with the Finance department.
  • Maintain relationships with local authorities to facilitate operational activities.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • A graduate or post-graduate degree.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in managing shifts in a HUB environment.
  • Able to manage route, transhipment, local deliveries, and operations.
  • Able to communicate efficiently with branches and vendors.

Experience working in a similar role is highly desirable.
