Key Roles and Responsibilities of a Quality Assurance Specialist

A quality assurance specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring that components supplied by suppliers meet the required standards.

  • Quality assurance specialists are responsible for inspecting supplier parts to verify conformity to global quality processes.
  • They plan and execute sampling plans for supplier parts inspection, maintaining defect reports recorded at incoming quality level.
  • Inspecting the quality of supplier components is also a crucial aspect of this job, including machined, castings, fabrication, tubes, etc.
  • Ensuring defect-free components are issued to production involves sorting, minor defect rework, and flagging major defects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a strong understanding of quality management practices.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in incoming quality inspection of machined parts, castings, fabrication, tubes, hoses.
  • Strong technical knowledge of machining processes of precision steel and cast-iron parts.
  • Understanding and analysis of CMM inspection reports.
  • Effective communication, cooperation, and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced computer applications.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
