Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Reconciliation Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for gathering, posting, and reconciling payments that are received by the Revenue Team, including daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage incoming payments to ensure timely processing.
  • Retrieve and post remittances from applicable payor websites when not available from the clearinghouse.
  • Review remittances for applicable adjustments and transfer balances to secondary or patient responsibility as needed.
  • Respond to questions related to payment application and collaborate with onshore teams to resolve any account variances.
  • Research and correct keying errors as necessary.
  • Document root causes and discrepancies and generate reports based on department protocols.
  • Document research results and amend appropriate systems as required to reconcile payments.
  • Identify trends in improved internal processes, systems, etc., as needed.
  • Ensure all workflow items are completed within set turn-around-times while maintaining quality expectations.
  • Reconcile payments to ensure the accounting system accurately reflects transactions.
  • Perform daily financial transactions such as verifying, calculating, and posting accounts receivable data.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field with 3-7 years of experience.
  • Good knowledge of technical accounting principles.
  • Strong understanding of insurance accounting and reconciliation processes.
  • Accounting expertise, knowledge of accounting standards and regulations, and experience with internal and external account audits.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and software applications, as well as advanced financial statement preparation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to report at the right level according to requirements (headline, summary, detail).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency in common business applications such as Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and Teams.
  • High level of competency in reconciliation.
