Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of Buying and Merchandising strategy, working within it at all times. This role is responsible for buying merchandise, coordinating with vendors for designated departments, focusing on quality and cost-effectiveness.

  • To ensure timely delivery of samples by vendors, set quality standards with QA, and reconcile store plans.
  • Conduct annual review of supplier performance with QA.
  • Work with merchandising team to ensure deliveries meet assigned purchase orders.
  • Research future product offerings based on customer needs and technological trends.
  • Plan pricing strategies with marketing department and management, aiming for optimal prices.
  • Source products to meet customer requirements, maximizing current sourcing channels and identifying new opportunities.
  • Support negotiations and work with supply base to achieve best costs and margins.
  • Collaborate with designers on developing styles, design research trips, fabric advice, and informing best sellers.
  • Manage stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns with merchandising.
  • Track competitors' activities through market research, understanding trends, forecasting color, fabric, etc.
  • Develop promotional plans, review and adjust season and weekly plans.
  • Identify and develop vendors, negotiate range merchandise, and obtain timely delivery of samples.
  • Work with marketing and design to develop visual merchandising promotions in line with theme and product launches.
