Lead Product Design Academic Department

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced leader to oversee our Product design (industrial design) academic department.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for Product design (industrial design) programs that align with the school's mission and vision.
  • Supervise and support faculty members in their teaching practices, research projects, and professional development, promoting excellence and innovation.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and stays relevant, fostering growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the design school and beyond to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students, driving creativity and collaboration.
  • Oversee student recruitment efforts, working closely with career advancement teams to secure talented individuals.
  • Plan effective resource allocation and budget management, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Bring industry experts to engage in teaching, master classes, conferences, symposia, and design festivals, enriching the academic experience and expanding industry connections.
  • Ensure compliance with UGC, NAAC, and other regulatory processes, maintaining high standards of academic integrity.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in industrial design, demonstrating expertise and knowledge.
  • Total 15+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in an academic leadership role within a design school setting, showcasing leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and developments in the field of industrial design, staying updated on the latest advancements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and stakeholders, facilitating effective collaboration and dialogue.
