Commodity Trading Specialist

The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimization of commodity trading systems.

  • Engage with trading, risk, operations, and finance teams to gather business requirements.
  • Manage the full trade lifecycle: trade capture, validation, confirmation, logistics/scheduling, risk exposure calculation, settlement, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Support key risk management activities:
  • Mark-to-market valuations
  • Daily P&L reporting and reconciliation
  • Market and credit risk exposure analysis
  • Hedge effectiveness tracking
  • Configure commodity trading systems to meet specific requirements.
  • Ensure accurate integration of market data feeds for pricing and risk analytics.
  • Collaborate on logistics and scheduling modules.
  • Assist with settlement processes such as invoicing, payment matching, and accruals.
  • Work closely with IT teams to implement system enhancements and interface integrations.
  • Conduct various types of system testing and document results.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting standards.
  • Provide end-user training, documentation, knowledge transfer, and production support.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with commodity trading systems.
  • Strong understanding of commodity trading processes and risk management principles.
  • Experience with data integration, trade lifecycle management, and system configuration.
  • Familiarity with market data providers and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
