System Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled System Operations Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing complex system infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • MySQL administration: installation, configuration, upgrades, replication setup/monitoring, and user management.
  • Database health monitoring, troubleshooting metadata locks, slow queries, replication lag, and optimization.
  • Linux server management: user management, process monitoring, cron jobs, package updates, and system resource checks.
  • Implementation and monitoring of backup and recovery processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup.
  • Routine patching, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues; escalating complex problems with proper root cause analysis inputs.
  • Participation in disaster recovery drills, capacity planning, and system audits.
  • Development and maintenance of operational runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base documentation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in system administration, particularly with MySQL and Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, including data modeling, normalization, and query optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
