Technical Solutions Lead

Job Summary:

Our organization is seeking a Technical Solutions Lead to oversee vessel retrofit projects from technical feasibility to yard commissioning.

This is a permanent, individual contributor role ideal for a Marine Chief Engineer with a strong grounding in docking, retrofit implementation, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end retrofit projects, including feasibility analysis, layout planning, material flow, vendor timelines, and yard coordination.
  • Review design drawings, electrical interface scopes, and class/flag submissions. Liaise with engineering vendors and class societies for approvals.
  • Prepare techno-commercial offers with ROI calculations, bonus/penalty models, and energy efficiency metrics for internal and client-facing stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with owners, charters, yards OEMs, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Develop and manage project RACI charts, technical specs, work orders, and commissioning plans.
  • Travel to yards for critical retrofit phases, including installation, integration, commissioning, and paint applications.
  • Lead hull modification and paint selection discussions, and coordinate yard/OEM execution during dry dockings.

Requirements:

  • A Marine Engineer (Class 1 – Motor) with 1 to 2 years' experience ashore in technical management or yard roles.
  • Hands-on experience in minimum two major drydocking/repairs involving tankers or bulkers.
  • Retrofit exposure in EPL/ShaPloi/BWTS, Scrubbers, VFDs, Ducts, Propellers, Hull paint.
  • Comfortable in design reviews, electrical integration, and class interactions.
  • Commercial Acumen with ROI modelling, proposal creation, cost vs savings analysis.
  • Experience in MS Office tools, Power BI, Advanced Excel, CFD exposure (Optional).
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
