Technical Support Specialist Job Description

Our team is seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to provide post-sales support to customers and partners globally. As part of our Global Customer Technical Support team, this role involves providing timely and effective solutions to software and hardware problems.

  • Communicate with customers by listening to and understanding their problems, then clearly explaining detailed technical information.
  • Ask targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in an expedient manner.
  • Track issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate next level or internal teams.
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of supported Linux/Unix operating systems, including troubleshooting, analysis, and configuration.
  • Advanced understanding and experience of networks, firewalls, protocols.
  • Knowledge in tracing and troubleshooting high-level protocols and traffic.
  • Extensive understanding and experience of virtualization and cloud concepts, properties, and technology.
  • Good understanding of technology infrastructure, security concepts, and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking, specifically IP-related technologies.
  • Ability to install, configure, and/or operate network equipment.
  • Scripting and programming skills.

Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a technical role aligned to the same field with customer support experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering.
  • Certifications in CCNA, MCSE, Cloud, and/or RedHat are desired but not required.
