Big Data Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned data engineering leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading distributed teams across multiple geographies and time zones, with expertise in managing cross-team collaboration with architects, product managers, and operations.

About the Role:

  • Leverage your experience in leading data engineering teams to drive the design, development, and deployment of large-scale data pipelines and architectures.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of HDFS internals and migration strategies to ensure seamless data infrastructure provisioning.
  • Work closely with architects and engineers to implement scalable data solutions using Apache Spark, Flink, and other technologies.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Your Skills:

  • Strong programming skills in Scala and Python.
  • Expertise in Apache Spark (batch & streaming) is required.
  • Detailed knowledge of HDFS internals and migration strategies.
  • Experience with table formats like Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Apache Hudi.
  • Ability to run Spark and/or Flink jobs on Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with distributed blob storages like Ceph or AWS S3.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and Helm.
