Our team is seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Data Curation Specialist to join our team of innovators. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting searches in public genomic databases, distinguishing different functional genomics technologies and biological experimental methodologies, and validating and entering accurate datasets.

  • Conduct comprehensive searches in public genomic databases (GEO, CellXGene, HumanCell Atlas).">
  • Distinguish various functional genomics technologies and biological experimental methodologies to match our company's needs.">
  • Understand necessary dataset qualifications and enter matching datasets to the database accurately.">
  • Validate/cross-check new datasets to avoid duplicates or problems.">
  • Optimize database structure to optimize information flow.">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Bioinformatics Data Curation Specialist with a strong focus on modern single-cell gene expression technologies and coding skills. The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. graduate in computational biology, bioinformatics, single-cell biology, genomics, immunology, biomedical engineering, or a related field.

The successful candidate should possess a strong technical focus and knowledge of genomics, molecular biology, and technologies such as qPCR and next-generation sequencing.

Additionally, the candidate should have demonstrated proficiency in the analysis of large-scale transcriptomics data (especially scRNA-seq), experience identifying outliers for gene expression and splicing from RNA-seq data, and experience working with relevant genomic databases and browsers and their annotations.
