Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead SQL Database Systems Manager to oversee the management of our database systems. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting SQL databases from version 2005 to 2022.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patching database software with service packs, cumulative updates, and hotfixes.
  • Maintaining a clear understanding of database hierarchy and build numbers.
  • Upgrading or migrating SQL Server from older to newer versions.
  • Configuring linked servers between different SQL Server versions.
  • Setting up contained databases for efficient migrations.
  • Designing recovery models and backup strategies.
  • Optimizing backups using encryption, compression, and special parameters.
  • Resolving master, model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and resource database corruptions.
  • Configuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions like log shipping, mirroring, clustering, and Always-On AG.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of SQL Server architecture, T-SQL, triggers, and procedures.
  • HA/DR solution administration and configuration.
  • Replication management and troubleshooting.
  • Patch management.
  • Always-On AG scenario handling.
  • Server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning.
  • Automation using scripts and tools for backup, monitoring, and resource utilization.
  • SQL Server tuning.
