Job Description:

We're seeking a seasoned technologist to join our team as a Principal Engineer. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for architecting and building complex distributed systems that provide the reliable and scalable foundation for our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and Build: Design, develop, and operate foundational backend services that form the backbone of our platform, ensuring they meet rigorous standards for performance and reliability.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship through exemplary code, design documents, and thoughtful code reviews. Drive best practices in system design and raise the bar for the entire team.
  • Complex Problem-Solving: Tackle our most challenging technical issues in distributed computing, large-scale data processing, and overall system architecture.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of designing and building complex, large-scale distributed systems.
  • Deep expertise in backend development, including system architecture, data modeling, and API design.
  • A strong bias for action and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, C++).
  • Experience with modern cloud and data infrastructure is essential (e.g., Google Cloud, Docker/Kubernetes, Postgres).
