Job Title

We are seeking an experienced leader to play a crucial role in translating high-level product vision into a scalable and maintainable technical foundation.

  • As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing our comprehensive SaaS platform for tutors and tutoring businesses.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing multi-tenant architectures and scalable systems handling high concurrency use cases. Advanced proficiency in AWS, including EC2, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudFront, and Cognito is required.

You will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing and documenting the current platform architecture, identifying bottlenecks, and producing a formal Architecture Gap Report.
  • Translating product epics into modular service contracts, data flow diagrams, and scalable system components.
  • Deciding and implementing optimal architectural patterns, such as monolith vs. microservices, REST vs. event-driven, DB index vs. cache.
  • Driving scalable multi-tenant architecture for user/workspace models and complex permission systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and enforce platform-wide standards, including naming conventions, code formatting rules, ADRs, and review checklists.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to design high-availability infrastructure and auto-scaling environments on AWS.
  • Own CI/CD pipelines and schema migration strategies with an emphasis on zero-downtime deployments and one-click rollbacks.
  • Monitor infrastructure spend and optimize for performance and cost; guide usage of serverless functions, queues, and caching layers.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an architecture or senior technical leadership role.
  • Strong full-stack expertise with MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
  • Demonstrated success in designing multi-tenant architectures and scalable systems handling 1,000+ requests per minute.
  • Advanced proficiency in AWS, including EC2, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudFront, and Cognito.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines).
  • Experience working with observability stacks like Datadog, New Relic, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of summarizing trade-offs clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
