Land Acquisition Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Acquisition Specialist to lead our renewable energy projects in Maharashtra. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and acquiring suitable land parcels, managing relationships with local stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Land Identification and Acquisition: Identify suitable land parcels for solar/wind projects considering technical feasibility, connectivity, and regulatory clearances.
  • End-to-End Process Management: Lead the land acquisition process including scouting, negotiation, documentation, registration, and handover.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with local landowners, agents, revenue officials, district-level authorities, and government departments.
  • Title Due Diligence: Conduct title due diligence and ensure legal sanctity of land through coordination with legal teams.
  • Right of Way Acquisition: Oversee RoW acquisition, mutation, land conversion, and compliance with state-specific renewable energy policies.
  • Documentation: Ensure clear documentation, including agreements to sale, lease deeds, power of attorney, and land maps.
  • Market Analysis: Keep track of local land price trends, zoning regulations, and state incentives to ensure cost-effective deals.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise a field team of land officers, surveyors, and external consultants.
  • Conflict Resolution: Handle conflict resolution and address any legal or community-related land acquisition issues.
  • Progress Reporting: Regularly update management on project progress, risk factors, and mitigation plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in land acquisition or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
