Job Description

The role of the Lead Platform Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the stability and high performance of WebSphere environments. Collaborating with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing WebSphere and Liberty.

You will also play a backup role for other technologies supported by the Mainframe Strategic Engineering team, evaluating and performing Proof-of-Concepts for strategic product candidates.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Systems programming skills in SMPE, RACF, and knowledge of MVS system internals
  • Experience with WASz and Liberty
  • REXX programming experience preferred
  • HTML, Java, Java Script, Rexx programming a plus
  • Knowledge of z/OS UNIX System Services and MVS environments
  • Experience with Mainframe system automation
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • The ability to multitask and work in a team environment is a must
  • Understanding of VTAM and TCP/IP
