Senior Data Engineering Manager

The Senior Data Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of our data strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of data engineering principles, strong leadership and project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
  • Organizational Leadership: Collaborate with senior leaders to align engineering goals with broader organizational objectives and contribute to strategic discussions.
  • Talent Growth & People Leadership: Foster an environment that encourages learning, collaboration, and innovation while mentoring and guiding a team of data engineers.
  • Partnering with Agile Product Owners and Product Managers, lead the data engineering solutioning, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and meet business objectives.
  • Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, high-performance data and analytic solutions, including data analysis, ingestion, transformation, and analytics.
  • Manage RunOps for data pipelines and analytics solutions, constantly optimizing for reliability and cost optimization.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of data engineers.
  • 8+ years of experience in leading enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions development.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working with agile development methodologies, such as Scaled Agile.
  • Good understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration concepts.
  • Able to mentor teams to develop appropriate data models for data analytics use cases.
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies and platforms, including Databricks, Apache Spark, and workflow orchestration.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, for data engineering solutions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated awareness of how to function in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
Education and Certifications:
  • SAFe for Teams certification (preferred).
  • Certified Data Engineer / Data Analyst (preferred).
