The key objective of this position is to have a highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator with extensive experience in production environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Ensuring optimal database performance, tuning queries and indexes, managing vacuuming and bloat, implementing pooling (PgBouncer), and maintaining robust monitoring and alerts.
  • Cluster Corruption Recovery: Diagnosing and recovering from cluster corruption using advanced tools and procedures, leveraging backups and replicas to ensure business continuity.
  • Major Upgrades and Migrations: Planning and executing major upgrades (pg_upgrade, logical replication), cross-version and cross-platform migrations (on-prem cloud), ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Providing technical leadership and mentor junior DBAs, conducting knowledge-sharing sessions and maintaining SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.

In addition to their primary responsibilities as a PostgreSQL DBA, the successful candidate will also assist with MySQL DBA tasks, including managing users, roles, and permissions, setup and troubleshooting replication, and performing backup and restore operations.
