Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

 

Job Description:

We seek a skilled Data Governance Specialist to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and quality across our data platforms. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in data quality practices, metadata management, and data classification principles to establish trusted data foundations that drive business intelligence, analytics, and operational reporting.

As a critical member of our data team, this role will support data governance efforts and enhance our data architecture. The specialist will collaborate with data owners to enforce data definitions, classifications, and data quality rules, ensuring seamless data delivery to meet business requirements.

Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining metadata, business glossary, and data catalog entries, performing data profiling, issue identification, and remediation coordination, as well as supporting the onboarding of new data assets and assisting in governance tool configuration, workflow management, and integration automation.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills in SQL, Python/Java, REST APIs for tool integration and automation, and experience with data management tools, such as data catalogs, MDM systems, and data quality platforms. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance and Operations of Data Governance.
  • Hands-on experience with Collibra (catalog, lineage, workflows, API integrations).
  • Experience with data management tools (e.g., data catalogs, MDM systems, data quality platforms).
  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, and data classification practices.
  • Technical skills in SQL, Python/Java, REST APIs for tool integration and automation.
  • Familiarity with Google cloud platform (GCP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and ability to liaise between business users and technical teams.
