Main Purpose:

Our organization requires a seasoned professional to perform integrated interpretation of available geo-science data and build a robust geological model, generating multiple development scenarios.

This role involves providing technical input to the business unit and supporting planning and geo-steering of horizontal wells, estimation of resource and reserve, and categorization according to PRMS guidelines.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Review stratigraphic/coal seam correlations, structural interpretation, and quality control of geological & seam parameter maps.
  • Build a static geo-cellular model incorporating available field data.
  • Conduct volumetric estimations in multiple cases capturing uncertainty ranges.
  • Quality control map-based and model-based OGIIP estimations.
  • Generate alternate development scenarios based on well type and spacing.
  • Review geological prognosis and well trajectories for development drilling.
  • Support operations geology during geo-steering/drilling operations and provide operational decisions as needed.
  • Provide technical inputs for business development plans.
  • Responsible for planning and acquiring geological data to bridge data gaps and reduce uncertainty through enhanced field understanding.
  • Support pre- and post-drill geo-mechanical analysis.
  • Support the resource evaluation team during dynamic simulation.
  • Quality control onsite and lab measurements on cores for coal characterization.
  • Evaluate CBM data packages from regulatory bodies or prospective sellers for block acquisition or farming-in.
  • Review and quality control subsurface deliverables from third-party/SME studies.
  • Generate integrated subsurface descriptions and risk/uncertainty matrices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for planning and execution related to operations and development.
