Job Summary

The Assistant Manager - Accounts is responsible for overseeing financial operations at the DAV Head office in Chennai.

  • Accounting (Both payable and receivable): Manage accounts payable and receivable, process invoices, issue payments, and track outstanding balances.
  • Payroll: Process payroll for all employees, calculating wages, taxes, and other deductions, ensuring timely payments.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws, monitoring changes and adjusting practices accordingly.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare for audits by ensuring up-to-date and accurate financial records and reports.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget in collaboration with senior management.
  • Financial Analysis/ reporting: Conduct financial analysis, prepare financial reports and statements providing a clear picture of the financial health.

Key responsibilities include maintaining strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices, as well as excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Effective communication skills are essential as the Assistant Manager will work closely with Institution's Management, administrators, faculty, and staff on financial matters.

Requisites:

  • Accounts degree required.
  • Proficient in Tally, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Knowledge of Statutory laws applicable to the institution.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Accountant, preferably at schools or audit firms.
