Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain and update technical documentation including user guides, API docs, release notes, knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Write and organize content that simplifies complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work with engineers to understand new features and products ensuring that documentation is aligned with the latest platform capabilities.
- Develop and maintain style guides and documentation standards to ensure consistency and quality across all materials.
- Review and edit technical content created by other team members to ensure clarity, consistency and correctness.
- Continuously improve the documentation process by suggesting and implementing best practices.
- Participate in feedback cycles with customers and internal teams to understand their documentation needs and continuously enhance the user experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a technical writer with a focus on cloud technology or SaaS companies.
- Proven experience writing technical documentation for cloud-based software APIs and developer tools. Strong understanding of cloud technologies platforms and services e.g. AWS Azure GCP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple clear manner.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce error-free well-structured documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and translate complex information into easy-to-understand content.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence GitHub and Markdown.
- Experience with agile software development and working in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with documentation generation tools and systems e.g. Javadoc Swagger. Knowledge of UI/UX principles and how they relate to technical documentation.
- Experience with technical writing for APIs and SDKs. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering Technical Writing or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
