Job Overview

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing level 2-level support for Linux in a mission-critical banking environment.

About the Role:

  • This is a challenging position that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • You will be working closely with other teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of our systems.
  • A strong understanding of Linux Virtual, RHEL, CentOS, Debian GNU, FreeBSD, and Ubuntu is essential for success in this role.
  • Familiarity with Non x86 Linux environments is also highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide level 2-level support for Linux in a mission-critical banking environment.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulator requirements.
  • Operate under ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge).
  • Maintain high availability, performance, and security; participate in DR/BCP drills.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents and manage approved platform changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • Tune configurations and schedule jobs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate vendor TAC cases, firmware/patch planning, and validate post-change health.
  • Demonstrate strong documentation, runbook hygiene, and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Ownership mindset with readiness for 24x7 support and on-call rotation.
  • 6+ years of experience in L2 support for Linux.
  • 10+ years of experience in L3 support for Linux.
