Senior Linux Administrator Job Description

The role of a Senior Linux Administrator involves overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based systems. This position requires expertise in managing system resources, ensuring data security, and optimizing system performance.

  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of Linux Administration principles.
  • Familiarity with LVM concepts such as FS creation, extension, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Multipath concept including validating multipath, adding Luns, and enabling multipath.
  • Ability to evaluate and correct OS vulnerabilities by patching servers.
  • Coordinating with different vendors for hardware and OS-level issues.
  • Log rotation and managing file system usage, changing permissions/ownership.
  • Implementing changes according to application team and DB team requirements at the OS level.
  • Ensuring adherence to SLA guidelines and Wirpo Customer Process while handling BAU.
  • Service management (NTP, SSH, AUTOFS etc).
  • Fixing server access and bootable issues (including fixing GRUB).
  • OS-level troubleshooting to bring up the server.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
