Job Title:

Piping Systems Engineer

Job Description:
  • Takes up jobs with clear objectives and completes tasks in the shortest possible time.
  • Coordinates issuance and collection of required materials, monitors correct usage, and advises contractors on critical path activities and timelines.
  • Reads and understands piping modification and replacement drawings as per inspection work lists.
  • Obtains clarifications from Maintenance Engineers before starting jobs if required.
  • Coordinates with manufacturing and contractors to release pipelines promptly and identify locations for blinding, hose connections, and flange wedge openings.
  • Monitors progress of replacement/modification work joint-wise for each pipeline.
  • Folllows up with Inspection for clearances on fit-up, welding, tests (DP test, Radiography), stress relieving, and hydrotesting.
  • Reviews shift handover logs and communicates effectively with engineers and outsourced teams.
  • Visits site regularly to check ongoing jobs and provides inputs to prevent resource constraints or delays.
  • Maintains vigilance on safety, immediately rectifies violations, and reports them to Safety Engineers.
  • Documents progress details in the Shift Turnover Log book, including activity start/completion times.
  • Ensures jobs are executed according to work lists, safety procedures, refinery FS guidelines, and maintenance work standards.
  • Prepares daily status reports as required by CPCL Manager.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with codes and standards like ASTM, ANSI, API.
  • Experience with pressure vessels, columns, towers, exchangers, heaters, reactors, and refinery piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with basic mechanical engineering knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office for report preparation.
  • Hands-on experience with project management software is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Commitment to adhere to all safety rules while working in the refinery environment.
