Job Title: Piping Maintenance Specialist

Piping Maintenance Specialists are responsible for planning and executing piping modification and replacement projects in refineries or petrochemical plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create job sequences to complete tasks efficiently, advising contractors on critical path activities and timelines.
  • Coordinate the issuance and collection of required materials and monitor their usage.
  • Analyze piping modification and replacement drawings as per inspection work lists.
  • Communicate with CPCL engineers to clarify any doubts before starting jobs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and contractors to release pipelines promptly and identify locations for blinding, hose connections, and flange wedge openings.
  • Ensure safety during the first hot work on every pipeline.
  • Monitor progress joint-wise for each pipeline.
  • Follow up with CPCL Inspection for clearances on fit-up, welding, tests (DP test, Radiography), stress relieving, and hydrotesting.
  • Review shift handover logs and communicate effectively with CPCL engineers and outsourced teams.
  • Visit sites regularly to check ongoing jobs and provide inputs to prevent resource constraints or delays.
  • Maintain vigilance on safety, immediately rectify violations, and report them to CPCL and Safety Engineers.
  • Document progress details in the Shift Turnover Log book, including activity start/completion times.
  • Summarize completed jobs at shift end in the provided format.
  • Ensure jobs are executed according to work lists, safety procedures, refinery FS guidelines, and maintenance work standards.
  • Prepare daily status reports as required by CPCL Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with codes and standards like ASTM, ANSI, API.
  • Experience with pressure vessels, columns, towers, exchangers, heaters, reactors, and refinery piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with basic mechanical engineering knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office for report preparation.
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera project management software is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of CPCL rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications:
  • B.Tech/BE/AMIE in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 3 years relevant experience.
  • Diploma holders with 6 years relevant experience may also be considered.
