  • Critical Responsibilities of a Piping Engineer

The primary role of this position is to perform Pipe Stress Analysis Calculations and ensure that all loading conditions are considered and catered for in the design.

Key Accountabilities:

">
  • To confirm that piping systems comply with specified stress analysis requirements
  • Issue approved stress isometrics for critical lines as required
  • Prepare stress calculations and nozzle loads summaries demonstrating Code compliance
  • Confirm that piping, pipe supports, and special piping (SP) items meet applicable ASME codes, industry standards, and project specifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Pipe Stress Analysis Calculations
  • Plant Layout Comments - loads to other disciplines
  • Piping Mechanical Specifications
  • Special Studies
  • Special Piping (SP) Item Calculations, Drawings, and Data Sheets
  • Support selection and support design
  • Fatigue/Blast, FPSO Hog, Sag, and structural consideration
  • Knowledge of Caesar II software
  • Navis Model/Review Reality
  • AIV/FIV
  • Excellent skill to guide young engineers
  • PML macros development
